Technical Certificate of Credit

Program Description: The Medical Information Specialist TCC focuses on the skills necessary for entry level work in the Medical Assisting field. This program will introduce students to medical terminology, human body systems and human body structure, human diseases, and human behavior and attitudes.

Student Learning Outcomes:
•   Students will correctly summarize causes, symptoms, ways to diagnose, method of transmission (if any) and treatment options for a specific disease as assigned.

Program Offered at the Following Sites: Moultrie-Veterans Parkway, Thomasville, Tifton

Length of Program: Two (2) Semesters.

Age: Applicant must be 16 years of age or older.

Education: An applicant must be a high school graduate or the equivalent (GED). College transcripts will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Advisor: A Program Advisor should be consulted prior to enrolling in any course. An advisor will be assigned by admissions.

Program Final Exit Point: Medical Information Specialist, Technical Certificate of Credit.

Credits Required for Graduation: 13 minimum semester hour credits required for graduation.

Note: Certain Credits from this program may be applied to the Medical Assisting diploma and/or Degree programs.
