Bainbridge, GA – April 19, 2018 – Bainbridge Manufacturing recently announced a training partnership with Georgia Quick Start and Southern Regional Technical College at the Bainbridge Manufacturing facility in Bainbridge, GA. Bainbridge Manufacturing is a privately held subsidiary of Global Air, a family business which began 35 years ago. The company headquarters are located in Miami, Florida, with Abraham Levy as the CEO and son of the founders of Global Air. Bainbridge Manufacturing manufactures heat exchangers and other components mainly for the automotive industry.

“Quick Start is the main reason we invested in Georgia. They make possible the factory of the future – today,” said Abraham Levy, CEO of Bainbridge Manufacturing. “Our automated lines, robots and production cells require many skills to operate. Quick Start does a remarkable job providing these skills and training to our employees. It’s a great partnership where we all win.”

Georgia Quick Start, the state’s No. 1-ranked workforce training program, is providing customized training to support Bainbridge Manufacturing’s first assembly plant with an initial investment of $10 million, with another $100 million planned over the next 10 years. Bainbridge Manufacturing will first manufacture the automotive parts in the 180,000 square foot manufacturing facility, with plans to add an additional 1.3 million square feet to manufacture heat exchangers for the HVAC and aerospace industry. Quick Start focuses on skills training for the new manufacturing processes that will be implemented in Bainbridge.

“We happily welcome Bainbridge Manufacturing to this new, innovative facility,” said Jackie Rohosky, deputy commissioner of economic development programs for the Technical College System of Georgia and head of Quick Start. “We look forward to working with them as they bring new opportunities to Georgia.”

The training program involves three distinct partners: Bainbridge Manufacturing, Southern Regional Technical College and Georgia Quick Start. Each partner will be responsible for the successful completion of the program. Quick Start will deliver training during the expansion, and Southern Regional Technical College will be Bainbridge Manufacturing’s long-term partner available for ongoing training and providing a pipeline of qualified graduates to meet future workforce needs.

“Southern Regional Technical College is excited about being one of the partners that will provide the long-term training of skilled personnel to meet Bainbridge Manufacturing’s needs,” said Dr. Craig R. Wentworth, Southern Regional Technical College president. “This opportunity provides an avenue for SRTC to meet a local demand for customized business and industry training in a timely manner via our college’s Economic Development division.” Overall, “We will be able to provide a continuous skilled workforce,” added Dr. Wentworth, “for Bainbridge Manufacturing and other area partners for years to come.”

The Bainbridge-Decatur County Development Authority and the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) worked with Southern Regional Technical College and Georgia Quick Start to qualify Bainbridge Manufacturing for the training support as they establish their manufacturing operations.
