SRTC Instructor Named State Teacher of the Year

On July 12th, 2017 Southern Regional Technical College’s (SRTC) Lynn Tanner was named post-secondary teacher of the year by the Georgia Association of Career and Technical Education (GACTE). Tanner serves as the Automotive Technology Program Chair at SRTC and is the current SkillsUSA Georgia State Director. Additionally, he is Master ASE certified and is a National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) Evaluation Team Leader (ETL).

“Being named a post-secondary teacher of the year is an incredible honor and accomplishment. This award is indicative of the hard work, dedication, and passion Lynn has for his students and his profession,” commented Dr. Craig Wentworth, President of Southern Regional Technical College.

The GACTE is a state affiliate of the national Association for Career & Technical Education (ACTE) organization. GACTE encourages and organizes teachers to become a part of a collective voice that can influence issues and policies that impact career, technical, and agricultural (CTAE) education. As a member, teachers can network with each other and gain important and helpful tips and techniques as well as participate in professional development at local, state and national levels.
