Do you have a student who needs Drivers Ed classes? We can help with that!
Joshua's Law requires 16-17 year olds to complete 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 additional hours of driving time with an instructor to receive a Class D license.
Our Division of Economic Development offers Driver's Education courses that meet Joshua's Law requirements.
Most importantly, these courses produce safer, more confident young drivers.
Our course is a Department of Driver's Services (DDS) approved 30/6 program that includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel training. The driving portion is scheduled with the instructor on the first day of class for a date after the curriculum portion is completed. Participants must possess a learner's permit.
A state DDS grant is available and, if awarded, covers the entire cost of the program.
The Georgia Driver’s Education Grant Scholarship is available to cover the $350 course fee if approved. The application cycle closes on the last day of the month and award notifications are delivered on the first business day of the following month.
Courses are offered in Tifton, Thomasville, and Moultrie. Please visit our calendar for upcoming dates: https://southernregional.edu/economic-development/calendar
