SRTC Appoints New Board Member Brad Barber

Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) President Jim Glass is pleased to announce the addition of Brad E Barber of Bainbridge and Decatur County to the SRTC Board of Directors. Barber was sworn in during the April 10 Board of Directors meeting at SRTC-Moultrie and will serve SRTC for a term of 3 years.

Barber has over 31 years of experience in banking. He began his career as a drive-through teller at the former C&S Bank in Athens, Georgia, and has worked in numerous areas of the bank during his career. Barber has served as the Chief Executive Officer and Director of First National Bank for 10 years. Prior to his role at First National Bank, Barber served as a senior vice president at Commercial Banking Company in Moultrie.

He is active with the Georgia Bankers Association and currently serves as the Chairman-Elect of the state wide organization. He currently serves on the American Bankers Association National Community Banking Council representing the State of Georgia. He is also a past President of the Moultrie Kiwanis Club and past Chairman of the Board for the Moultrie YMCA. He is a past Board member of the Moultrie Chamber of Commerce, the Moultrie Red Cross, and the United Way of Moultrie and the FCA Board of Colquitt County. Brad is a native of Lee County, Georgia. He has been married to Wendy Powell Barber for 28 years and they have three adult children. They attend First Baptist Church of Bainbridge.

I am confident that he will serve as an exceptional board member and advocate for the college.”

The Board's purpose is to advise the college on program direction, to serve as a check and balance for the development and implementation of college goals; objectives; policies; and procedures, and to advocate for SRTC within the community. The State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia approves each local board member.
