Organizers of the upcoming 2016 Community Career Resource Fair scheduled to be held in Moultrie on Thursday, March 2nd are anticipating the event will be a catalyst in transitioning local job hunters into members of a viable workforce.
An estimated 50 local businesses and industries will assemble in the Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) Southwest Georgia Bank Conference Center at the College’s Moultrie – Veteran’s Parkway location from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. for the 2017 Community Career Resource Fair.
SRTC and the Moultrie office of the Georgia Department of Labor will join forces to present the event to familiarize the businesses and industries in our region and job hunters with one another.
The event is open to the general public. Whether or not employers have jobs to offer at this time, job seekers will benefit from learning about local companies and what skills they would expect their employees to possess. In turn, businesses may find matches for future employment. Industries expected to be at the fair include healthcare, industrial manufacturing, sales and banking, among others.
“Fall Semester at SRTC ended in December, therefore, businesses and industries will have the opportunity to meet the College’s most recent graduating class as well as upcoming Spring semester graduates. If an employer finds a good fit for an employment need, our well-trained, educated graduates will be ready to start work within a few weeks of the career fair,” says Dana Lewis, SRTC Career Services Coordinator.
Additionally, all job seekers are encouraged to bring updated resumes and all information necessary to complete job applications on site. Furthermore, to create a positive impact on employers, Lewis urges participants to “make a great first impression; consider this the first interview with a future employer,” and to come dressed in business professional attire.
Because this is a professional event and space is limited, Lewis says no children or strollers will be permitted.
Among the employers expected to participate in the fair are Georgia Department of Corrections, Moultrie Police Department, RBM of Atlanta, Prince Automotive Group, Quality Employment Service, Performance Food Group, Green Oaks Center, Moultrie YMCA, Convergys, Sam’s Club, Mitchell County Hospital, Keystone Foods, Great Clips, WD Laramore Manufacturing, Sanderson Farms, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation, Georgia Department of Labor, Action Med Personnel, Direct Life, New Hire Solutions, Labor Finders, Hospital Authority of Miller County, BSR – LLC., Moultrie Fire Department, ESG Operations, Turning Point Care Center, and many more.
Admission and parking for the career fair is free. For more details about the 2017 Community Career Resource Fair or to learn how your company can be represented at the event, contact SRTC Career Services Coordinator Dana Lewis at firstname.lastname@example.org.
