Payroll Accounting Specialist, TCC
Technical Certificate of Credit
Program Description: The Payroll Accounting Specialist Technical Certificate of Credit provides entry-level skills in payroll accounting. Topics include: principles of accounting, computerized accounting, principles of payroll accounting, mathematics, and basic computer use.
Student Learning Outcomes:
• 80% of students will demonstrate proficiency in calculating costs, depreciation, and disposal of plant assets by earning 70% or greater on the Plant Asset Project.
• 80% of students will demonstrate proficiency in producing an adjusted and in-balance set of books utilizing computerized accounting software by earning 70% or greater on the Computerized Accounting Project.
•80% of students will demonstrate proficiency in processing and recording payroll transactions utilizing a simulated computerized payroll accounting system by earning 70% or greater on the Payroll Project.
Entrance Date: Beginning of each semester.

Age: Applicant must be 16 years of age or older.
Education: An applicant must be a high school graduate or the equivalent (GED). College transcripts will be evaluated on an individual basis.
Advisor: A Program Advisor should be consulted prior to enrolling in any course. An advisor will be assigned by admissions.
Program Final Exit Point: Payroll Accounting Specialist, Technical Certificate of Credit.
Credits Required for Graduation: 17 minimum semester hour credits required for graduation
