On December 7th, 2017 the Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) Foundation received an opulent donation from American Proteins, Inc. and the Bagwell Family Foundation. Founded in 1949 as a small family business, American Proteins has grown to become the international resource for processing allied poultry products. Today, the company operates the largest poultry protein and lipids conversion operation in the world.

American Proteins’ Harry Wilson presented SRTC Vice President of Institutional Advancement Amy Maison with a donation to the College’s Foundation.

“The Bagwell Family Foundation is proud to present this donation to support the education and training of SRTC students. It is our honor to assist students reach their educational goals,” Wilson remarked during the check presentation.

The mission of Southern Regional Technical College Foundation is to encourage, receive, and administer financial gifts that benefit the college or college activities with its first priority being to provide support that enhances student learning. The SRTC Foundation provides more than twenty scholarships each semester to students who are entering their college careers through graduation.

“The STRC Foundation will continue to use the funds provided by American Proteins and The Bagwell Family Foundation to support scholarships that reward students for their academic achievement. The SRTC scholarship program provides financial support to students who need assistance with tuition, books, and other fees. With this generous gift, SRTC is able to offer more scholarships to students. We hope that by increasing the number of scholarships awarded to students each semester we can continue to improve the job skills, technical training, and educational level of the citizens of the communities we serve,” commented Maison.
