Veterans Services
Southern Regional Technical College is dedicated to providing excellent customer service to our veterans, current military, and their dependents. Our goal is to assist veterans, current service personnel and/or their dependents with meeting their educational endeavors. Although we do not determine eligibility for VA benefits, with your assistance, our offices are here to assist you with certifying your enrollment to VA in an accurate and timely manner. This page is designed to provide you with information you may need to be a successful student at Southern Regional Technical College.

ASSISTANCE
Visit a local Georgia Department of Veterans Service for assistance with completing the VA form 22-1990.
What does SRTC need to certify your educational benefits?
- Certificate of Eligibility from Veteran Affairs
- Official transcript from ALL colleges you have attended
- SRTC Student Memorandum of Understanding
- A copy of your course registration each semester
- Notification of any changes to program, courses, address, etc.
When will my benefits be available and how much?
For initial certifications at SRTC, we ask that you allow up to six weeks for the Veterans Affairs Department to process your benefits. Due to high volume during the beginning of terms, it has been our experience that the Veterans Affairs Department can be slow processing these initial claims.
The amount of funding available depends on what the Department of Veterans Affairs determines you are eligible to receive based on location, type and time of service. Students are encouraged to apply for federal and state financial aid programs. For more information on other types of financial aid available, please refer to the Financial Aid link on the Southern Regional Technical College website.
Certification of Enrollment
Once our office has determined your eligibility for education benefits, our School Certifying Official (SCO) will verify your enrollment at Southern Regional Technical College and submit a certification to the VA Regional Office. It is important you notify the SCO when you have registered for courses at the beginning of each semester. This will ensure your benefits are processed in a timely manner.
