The Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) Foundation recently received a generous donation from CCH Construction, Inc. Jason Harpe, Vice President and Partner, at CCH Construction presented SRTC President Dr. Craig Wentworth with a donation to the College’s Foundation as the first $5000 donor to SRTC’s Corporate Challenge.
The recently launched Corporate Challenge initiative encourages local business partners to provide between six and ten scholarships to deserving SRTC students. CCH Construction was the first to answer the call and their gracious donation will provide ten students with a $500 scholarship to assist in the pursuit of a career of their choice.
“Without the support of our community partners such as CCH Construction and Mr. Jason Harpe, we would have difficulty providing the additional assistance that is so important for the success of our students,” said SRTC President Dr. Craig Wentworth.
The Foundation will use these funds to support scholarships that reward students for their academic achievement. They will also provide financial support to students who need assistance with tuition, books, and other fees. By offering more scholarships for students, the Foundation and SRTC hope to improve the job skills, technical training, and educational level of the citizens of their community.
“We recognize the importance of technical education to our community and to the local work force,” said Harpe. “CCH is committed to supporting our community and improving lives. Education is a major focus at our company and we are driven to help students succeed. We are proud to be able to make this donation to SRTC and commend them for the great job they do in serving this area’s educational and career training needs.”
As one of SRTC’s loyal contributors, CCH Construction is recognized on the College’s Donor Wall, which highlights the cumulative and annual donations of all supporters of the SRTC Foundation.
“We appreciate CCH Construction for their commitment to technical education and for the unwavering support of SRTC’s students, faculty, and staff. As a member of our SRTC Foundation Board of Trustees, Jason Harpe has not only made a generous financial commitment to our college but also volunteers his time to ensure the success of each and every student at SRTC.” said Amy Maison, SRTC Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Marketing.
Corporate Challenge participants can request their funds be earmarked for a specific program or group of students, or they can be donated to the Unrestricted Student Scholarship Fund which fulfills the greatest need for the College. Donors drive qualification criteria and the SRTC Foundation staff is ready and willing to provide guidelines and assistance in the development of individualized giving.
