On December 6, 2023, Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) held a Commencement ceremony at SRTC-Bainbridge in honor of the graduates who completed their programs during the fall semester of 2023. The ceremony recognized the accomplishments of 385 graduates, with over 250 graduates in attendance. The graduates’ friends and family members filled the Student Wellness Center gym to capacity, celebrating the class of 2023.
SRTC’s graduation was a morning of awarding degrees, diplomas, and certificates to students who have completed their respective credit programs or high school equivalency credentials. Many graduates received multiple honors as several programs include embedded certificates that students earn in the course of completing a program.
The commencement speaker was Antoinette “Toni” Reid, Tifton Area Manager for Georgia Power. Professionally, Toni is responsible for effectively engaging in all external and community activities to accelerate growth in economic development, education and workforce development in the Tifton and surrounding area. Her role includes cultivating relationships with a diverse group of entities that include government, private and public business, and other community key leaders and partners.

Reid congratulated the graduates on their accomplishments and encouraged them to begin the next chapter of their lives with purpose and determination. “You are all amazing, you are overcomers, you are determined, and your next chapter is going to be great. Never forget that you own the narrative of your life, so go forth and continue to make us all proud!”
SRTC President Jim Glass thanked the graduates in attendance for choosing Southern Regional Technical College, and extended his appreciation to the gathered family and friends for supporting the students during their college journey. He encouraged the students to continue to work hard and take the lessons that they have learned at SRTC with them as they move forward in their education and their careers.
