Georgia Power Makes Donation to SRTC Foundation

The Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) Foundation recently received a generous donation from Georgia Power. They have long been a supporter of technical education, and have shown that support through numerous donations to the Foundation over the years. On Thursday, October 22nd, Georgia Power’s Susan Carter presented SRTC President Dr. Craig Wentworth with a donation to the College’s Foundation.

The Foundation will use these funds to support general scholarships that reward students for their academic achievement. They will also provide financial support to students who need assistance with tuition, books, and other fees. By offering more scholarships for students, the Foundation and SRTC hope to improve the job skills, technical training, and educational level of the citizens of their community.

“Georgia Power’s generous support of the students, faculty, and staff of SRTC is genuinely appreciated. Changes to HOPE Scholarship and HOPE Grant over the last few years have forced many students to seek additional assistance from the Foundation, assistance that would not be possible without the continued support from our College partners like Georgia Power,” commented Amy Maison, Vice President of Institutional Advancement, Marketing, and Public Relations.

“Without the generosity and support of our community partners such as Georgia Power and Mrs. Susan Carter, we would find it much more difficult to provide the services that are so important to both our students and our community,” stated Dr. Craig Wentworth, SRTC President.

The Southern Regional Technical College Foundation is a non-profit corporation who strives to promote the cause of higher education and expand educational opportunities to the students of Southern Regional Technical College. The Foundation endeavors to create scholarships and endowments, assist in the financing of capital improvements, and provide the students of SRTC with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities.
