Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) has achieved an increase in enrollment for the eleventh consecutive semester since the fall of 2022. The college’s total enrollment for the spring 2026 semester is 5,640, up from the 2025 spring enrollment of 5,091. This 10.8% growth is well over the Technical College System of Georgia's average of 8.7% growth. SRTC also saw a 12% increase in Full Time Equivalent enrollment from spring 2025 to spring 2026, well over the system average of 9.6%. It also marks another milestone for the college’s largest spring semester enrollment to date!

SRTC President Jim Glass credits the college’s strong growth to the combined efforts of faculty and staff. “Our faculty members are committed to providing the kind of high-quality education that is required in our service delivery area,” commented Glass. “Before an individual can become a successful graduate, they must first become a successful student. Our staff frequently go far above and beyond for our students, assisting and supporting them every step of the way. From application to graduation, our students are never alone. I am proud to say that our team continually puts forth the kind of effort that our students deserve.”

Several programs have experienced exceptional enrollment growth this semester, reflecting both strategic partnerships and dedicated faculty engagement. The college’s new Echocardiography program saw a remarkable 64.5% growth, driven by a vital partnership with Archbold Memorial Hospital. The Land, Forest, and Wildlife Management program achieved 45.7% growth, a testament to faculty members who have worked diligently to build strong relationships with local conservation groups, organizations, and high schools throughout the region. Three programs with significant participation: Air Conditioning Technology saw 52.5% growth, Criminal Justice increased by 40.5%, and Electrical Systems grew by 32.6%. With a 99% job placement rate, SRTC continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing quality education that prepares students for success in the workforce. As demand for skilled trades professionals continues to rise across industries, SRTC remains dedicated to equipping students with the hands-on training and technical expertise employers need.

The Manufacturing Engineering and Precision Machining programs, launched through our partnership with the Georgia Institute of Technology and through the Georgia AIM grant, have seen an extraordinary 271.4% growth as students recognize the importance of advanced manufacturing skills in today's economy.

SRTC’s new Industrial Technology Building on the Moultrie campus is set to open in spring 2026. This new facility will serve as a hub of innovation and learning, equipped with cutting-edge technology, including computer-aided welding equipment and automotive painting technology, further expanding SRTC's capacity to offer new programs tailored to meet the evolving needs of local businesses and industries.

The college saw a remarkable 13.6% increase in Dual Enrollment from spring 2025 to spring 2026, serving students across more than 20 high schools in the region. Dual enrollment students are enrolled in both core and occupational courses, giving them a head start on their college education while still in high school. SRTC offers 38 general education courses that transfer seamlessly to the University System of Georgia, as well as to 19 private colleges and universities throughout Georgia, providing students with flexible pathways to continue their education beyond technical college.
