Southern Regional Technical College Names Susan Davis Dean of Professional Services

Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) President Jim Glass has appointed Susan Davis as the new Dean of Professional Services, effective August 1, 2024.

Davis brings a wealth of experience to this role, having served the college for more than two decades. Most recently, she held the position of Division Chair for Business Technology and Media, where she has been instrumental in supporting SRTC's mission by delivering high-quality programs and instruction that meet local industry needs.

With an impressive educational background, Davis holds a Master of Education in Business Education from Valdosta State University, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Georgia Southwestern State University, and an Associate of Science in Business Administration from Abraham Baldwin College. Her academic achievements demonstrate her commitment to excellence in education and business.

Davis has been with SRTC since 2002, where she started as an Adult Literacy Instructor before becoming a Business Technology Instructor and Program Chair. In these positions, she has been responsible for supervising faculty, coordinating recruitment, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring efficient course implementation. Her duties have also included overseeing program budgets, maintaining industry connections, and teaching courses within the division.

Throughout her career at SRTC, Davis has been an active contributor to various aspects of academic administration. She has organized advisory committee meetings, facilitated equipment procurement, and played a key role in student advisement. Her experience in maintaining contact with the business community has kept her abreast of technological changes and community needs, which has been invaluable in assisting with student placement.

In her new role as Dean of Professional Services, Davis will oversee the Commercial Driving, Criminal Justice Technology, Early Childhood Care and Education, Land, Forest, Wildlife Management, and Social Work programs leveraging her diverse experience to enhance the college's offerings and maintain strong connections with industry partners. Her expertise in business technology and media, combined with her strong administrative skills, positions her well to lead SRTC's Professional Services division into the future.
