Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) President Jim Glass is pleased to announce the addition of Andrew Scheffield of Bainbridge to the SRTC Board of Directors. Sheffield was sworn in during the recent Board of Directors meeting in Moultrie and will serve SRTC for a term of 3 years.
Sheffield currently serves as Area Manager II at Georgia Power Company, where he leads community outreach and education initiatives across eight counties, including Clay, Decatur, Early, Grady, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole, and Thomas. With more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector, Sheffield previously served as Trouble Supervisor, Lineman, and Trouble-Man at Georgia Power Company and as a Lineman at Three Notch EMC. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated expertise in regional operations management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning while successfully promoting energy efficiency and conservation programs. Sheffield’s educational background includes credentials from Valdosta State University, Bainbridge College, and Northwest Lineman College. He maintains active involvement in numerous community organizations, serving on the boards of Salvation Army, United Way, Rotary, Oak House, GYSTC, and the Miller/Early/Seminole Chambers.

The Board's purpose is to advise the college on program direction, to serve as a check and balance for the development and implementation of college goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, and to advocate for SRTC within the community. The State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia approves each local board member.
Southern Regional Technical College offers over 150 degree, diploma, and certificate programs that are designed to get students quickly into their desired careers, and 38 general education courses that transfer to the University System of Georgia institutions and 19 private colleges and universities in Georgia. SRTC has instructional sites located in eleven counties across Southwest Georgia for the convenience of its students. The College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). SACSCOC is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states.
