On the evening of October 17, 2023, the Bainbridge chapter of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) at Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) inducted 5 new members into the organization. The formal ceremony was held in the Student Wellness Center of SRTC-Bainbridge. The 2023 Fall NTHS inductees were Business Management major Donna Clark of Colquitt, Nursing major Nyla Evans of Bainbridge, Industrial Electrical Technology major William Hand of Bainbridge, Industrial Electrical Technology major Cameron Jones of Bainbridge, and Nursing major Tametriss Smart of Bainbridge.
NTHS Advisor Hannah VanLandingham said, “In order to become a member of the National Technical Honor Society, each student must have and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA throughout their time as a student, be nominated by their professors, and participate in community service events. As advisors, we are so proud of these students who go above and beyond in their respective studies and majors. These students truly represent the best of what SRTC has to offer.”
As a national organization, the purpose of NTHS is to promote the ideals of honesty, service, leadership, career development, and skilled workmanship. NTHS rewards meritorious achievement in technical education and assists technical students in their pursuit of educational and career goals. Nation-wide, NTHS works to develop a greater awareness within the American business, industry, and service communities about the talents and abilities of students engaged in technical education, and provides technical students with a greater awareness of the world of work.
Benefits of membership in NTHS include a diploma or certificate seal indicating membership, three letters of recommendation sent upon request to any business, industry, or educational institution where member applies, and an excellent resume entry denoting leadership and participation in a student organization. To maintain eligibility for membership, the student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
