SRTC Celebrates First Echocardiography Graduating Class at Pinning Ceremony

On Thursday, November 13, 2025, Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) held a pinning ceremony honoring its first graduating class of Echocardiography students in Thomasville. The ceremony commemorates the students' successful completion of their coursework and clinical training. These graduates are also eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony at SRTC’s Bainbridge Campus on December 11, 2025.

The five graduates represent a historic milestone as the inaugural class of SRTC's Echocardiography Associate of Applied Science degree program. The graduates include Elise (Niki) Berardi, Starsha Brown, Marissa Davis, Jennifer Perez-Ramirez, and Morgan Pritchett.

The six-semester Echocardiography program is designed to prepare students for work in the allied health field as echocardiographers. The program offers both clinical and didactic instruction in patient care using ultrasound waves to create images of the heart muscle, valves, and blood vessels, as well as techniques to correctly position and obtain ultrasound images that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac and vascular disease.

"This inaugural class has demonstrated exceptional perseverance and dedication throughout their education,” said Ashley Hutchison, SRTC’s Echocardiography Program Chair. “I am incredibly proud of their achievements and confident they will excel as echocardiographers, providing outstanding cardiac care to patients throughout our communities.”

Southern Regional Technical College offers over 150 degree, diploma, and certificate programs that are designed to get students quickly into their desired careers, and 38 general education courses that transfer to the University System of Georgia institutions and 19 private colleges and universities in Georgia. SRTC has instructional sites located in eleven counties across Southwest Georgia for the convenience of its students.
