According to official data released on September 12, 2016 from the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) data center, Southern Regional Technical College was one of eleven colleges in the 23 college system to increase their total enrollment in Fall 2016 as compared to Fall 2015. The College also realized an increase in Full Time Equivalency (FTE) of 2.3%.

SRTC saw their total enrollment rise to 3,553 students overall, a gross increase of 1.3%, with 1,422 of those students being dually enrolled. The Move on When Ready (MOWR) program (formerly known as Dual Enrollment) allows high school students to receive Carnegie unit credit from their respective high school and postsecondary credit hours from the College for the same course. With the recent changes to the MOWR program, any student enrolled in a Georgia high school that meets the dual enrollment and admission requirements of the College is eligible to participate in the program.

“Our faculty and staff are equally committed to helping each student achieve success, stay in school, and graduate on time. For new students enrolling at our college, they are seeing us as a first choice. Small classes supported by face-to-face and online tutoring, affordable tuition, financial aid, job placement, and excellent customer service are paramount in helping new students make their decisions,” commented Joyce Halstead, SRTC Vice President for High School Initiatives.

SRTC’s dual enrollment program continues to grow into one of the largest statewide as they expand opportunities for high school students to earn college credit. “We value our partnerships with our area high schools and are committed to working with all stakeholders to strengthen those unions for future students,” commented Halstead.

”For a college, increasing enrollment by any amount is no small feat. I want to thank our faculty and Student Affairs personnel who work tirelessly to help admit and enroll students. The enrollment increases are good news for our college as we continue to become a larger and stronger institution,” commented SRTC President Dr. Craig Wentworth.

SRTC offers over 148 degree, diploma, and certificate programs that are designed to get you quickly into your desired career, and 27 general education courses that transfer to the University System of Georgia institutions and 19 private colleges and universities in Georgia.
