Thursday, October 13, 2016 marked Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) Foundation 9th Annual Grady County Golf Tournament at Tired Creek Golf Course. Participation in the tournament supports the SRTC Foundation as it provides student scholarships to residents of Grady County. The SRTC Board of Trustees is proud to announce that the event raised over $11,000 with 16 teams participating!
“We are thrilled with the support we have continued to receive from the Grady County community over the years. The funds raised from the tournament will directly impact 22 students residing in Grady County by providing assistance with tuition, fees, books, and other expenses related to their education,” commented Amy Maison, Vice President of Institutional Advancement, Marketing, and Public Relations at SRTC and Executive Director for the SRTC Foundation.
The Thomas University team of Ken Harper, Maurice Chastain, Neil Daniels, and Mike Singletary won first place gross. The second place gross winner was the tournament Eagle Sponsor, CCH Construction comprised of Jason Harpe, Vann Champion, Stephen Cheney, Jr., and Chadd Mathis. Jason Harpe also won the waterproof Kodak Pix Pro Camera.
Net score winner was the Stallings Motors team comprised of Ken Bond, Tommy Bond, Hansell Bearden, and Harry Young. The second place net award went to Danny Willis, Carol Willis, Phil Clay, and Pam Clay. Danny Willis was also the winner of the SRTC fire pit.
