SRTC Inducts New Members into National Technical Honor Society

On the evening of October 17, 2023, the Moultrie, Thomasville, and Tifton chapters of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) at Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) inducted 30 new members into the organization. The formal ceremony was held at SRTC-Thomasville. The 2023 Fall NTHS inductees were: Alexis Solano of Thomasville, Ashley Bristol of Thomasville, Caprela Wright of Tifton, Carina Cruz-Meza of Moultrie, Carlos Castro of Cairo, Cassidee Brooks of Thomasville, Cheyenne Dahlgren of Moultrie, Cierra Cain of Bainbridge, Elian Gomez of Cairo, Heather Dailey of Thomasville, James Christopher Peppers of Boston, Jayden Zavala of Pelham, Jennifer Reyes of Moultrie, Karson Fox of Sale City, Krista Murphy of Thomasville, Leila Causey of Albany, Mirian Gutierrez-Villeda of Moultrie, Nicole Tillman of Boston, Parker Faulkner of Thomasville, Renee Gray of Cairo, Russell Hiers of Nashville, Sanaa Palmer of Thomasville, Santos Hernandez of Cairo, Savanna Brown of Newton, Sheila Simmons of Moultrie, Skylar Thomas of Meigs, Sonya McLean of Thomasville, Tamia Johnson of Pavo, Tiara Shimkus of Thomasville, Trebony Roberts of Moultrie.

NTHS Advisory Hannah VanLandingham said, “In order to become a member of the National Technical Honor Society, each student must have and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA throughout their time as a student, be nominated by their professors, and participate in community service events. As advisors, we are so proud of these students who go above and beyond in their respective studies and majors. These students truly represent the best of what SRTC has to offer.”

As a national organization, the purpose of NTHS is to promote the ideals of honesty, service, leadership, career development, and skilled workmanship. NTHS rewards meritorious achievement in technical education and assists technical students in their pursuit of educational and career goals. Nation-wide, NTHS works to develop a greater awareness within the American business, industry, and service communities about the talents and abilities of students engaged in technical education, and provides technical students with a greater awareness of the world of work.

Benefits of membership in NTHS include a diploma or certificate seal indicating membership, three letters of recommendation sent upon request to any business, industry, or educational institution where member applies, and an excellent resume entry denoting leadership and participation in a student organization. To maintain eligibility for membership, the student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

SRTC offers over 130 degree, diploma, and certificate programs that are designed to get you quickly into your desired career, and 28 general education courses that transfer to the University System of Georgia institutions and 19 private colleges and universities in Georgia.
