Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) students demonstrated exceptional leadership and professional development at the Georgia Fall Leadership Conference held November 15-16, 2024. The conference brought together student organizations from technical colleges across Georgia, including Georgia FBLA Collegiate, Georgia Student Government Association, National Technical Honor Society, and SkillsUSA Georgia Postsecondary.
The two-day event featured expert speakers and interactive workshops covering topics such as "Finding Your Own Genius," professional networking, and business communication. Participants gained valuable insights into digital communication, including email etiquette and social media's impact on employability.
"The conference provided our students with crucial networking opportunities and leadership development," said Carol Peppers, SRTC advisor. "The combination of organization-specific meetings and skill-building workshops created a comprehensive learning experience."
SRTC delegates participated in both general professional development sessions and organization-specific meetings, collaborating with peers from technical colleges statewide. The experience has inspired plans to enhance student organization activities across SRTC campuses.
SRTC attendees included: Students: Nathan Freeman, Nadia Strickland, Chris Peppers, Pamela Wagner, Renee Gray, Dolores Bradley Advisors: Gina Chambers, Hannah VanLandingham, Carol Peppers, Denik Revels, Carolyn Jones
