This course is designed to facilitate the acquisition of foundational concepts, knowledge, and essential psychomotor skills related to providing nursing care to a variety of clients experiencing transitions of health status. The following concepts are introduced and integrated throughout subsequent courses: well¼ness and health promotion; caring; communication and collaboration; ethical and legal implications; cultural diversity; the teaching/learning process; notification; pharmacology; life transitions; the nursing process and critical thinking; and roles of the associate degree nurse.
