On Thursday, December 4, 2025, Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) recognized five graduating Central Sterile Supply Processing Technician students at a pinning ceremony in Tifton, honoring their achievements.
The graduating Central Sterile Supply Processing cohort includes Nekayla Alford, Genesis Cody, Karena Hernandez Rafael, Joshua Smith, and D’Asia Williams.
The Central Sterile Supply Processing Technician program is designed to provide entry-level training that will prepare graduates to function in the sterile supply processing and distribution areas of healthcare facilities. The program is based on a combination of theory and clinical instruction, applying scientific principles to the specific work area. Through theory classes with laboratory participatory components, students gain the knowledge and skills necessary for clinical application in healthcare settings. The program's academic and practical experiences provide students with the preparation needed to be eligible to sit for the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) certification exam.
"We are incredibly proud of these graduates and the dedication they've shown throughout this program," said Wesley Luke, Central Sterile Processing Faculty. "Their commitment to learning the critical skills needed to ensure patient safety in healthcare settings demonstrates the professionalism and care that will make them valuable members of any healthcare team. We're confident they will excel as they begin their careers in this essential field."
