LFW Students Head Into The Woods With New Tools This Semester

Just in time for the fall semester, the Land, Forest, and Wildlife Management (LFW) program at SRTC-Thomasville received a shipment of new, cutting edge forestry equipment. Thanks to Perkins grant funds, the college was able to acquire Silva Ranger handheld compasses, Haglöf Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) units, Haglöf Electronic Clinometers, Motorola handheld 2-way radios, and large tree calipers. SRTC Foundation Awarded Over $58,000 in Scholarships for Fall Semester 2020

For the 2020 fall semester, which begins August 18, the Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) Foundation awarded scholarships to 66 students totaling over $58,000. These funds assist students with education-related costs such as tuition, fees, books, classroom and lab supplies, and more. SRTC Is Making College Even More Affordable With More Free Textbook Options

Natural Sciences Program Chair Dr. Heidi Von Itter recently announced that Anatomy and Physiology students will have no out of pocket costs for their A&P textbooks beginning fall semester of 2020.
